Tackle
The LAFA players and participants are taught to play the game in the right way and will spend many enjoyable hours developing their football skills in a safe and fun environment. Our coaching philosophy promotes a safety first approach while reinforcing the character traits that are important to succeed not only in the game itself but in life. The 2024 LAFA Tackle Football program is proud to announce its creation of the West Chester Shamrocks and its involvement with the IYFL (Independent Youth Football League). The 2024 West Chester Shamrocks will consist of different age based teams - 7U, 9U, 11U, and 13U. The 13U will have one competitive team. The 9U and 11U will have two separate teams - competitive and developmental. The 7U will have one developmental team. The age deadline for each division is July 31, 2024. Competitive teams' practice is mandatory three days a week M/T/Th with games on Saturday. Developmental teams' practice is mandatory twice a week on T/Th (and optional Monday) with games on Saturday. All practice is at our state of the art turf facility, Kelly Field in West Chester. The home games will be played at Kelly Field and the away games will involve travel to our league opponent's field.
Registration closes July 31st, 2024.
ALL EQUIPMENT PROVIDED FOR TACKLE, EXCEPT HELMET.
*In the past few years due to situations related to COVID-19 and supply chain issues, LAFA had made exceptions to this rule. If you are in need of assistance to purchase a helmet, please email lafawc@gmail.com for more information.
Teams and Fees
7U Tackle Football - Ages 6 & 7 only - (7 years old as of July 31st current year). There is only one developmental team. Photo required, along with a copy of original birth certificate. The fee for Tackle Football is $345.00 ($295+$50 volunteer deposit).
9U Tackle Football - Ages 8 & 9 - (9 years old as of July 31st current year). Players are evaluated and placed on the development or competitive teams. There will be (4) home games and (4) away games with the competitive team having the ability to compete in the IYFL playoffs. Photo required, along with a copy of original birth certificate. The fee for Tackle Football is $345.00 ($295+$50 volunteer deposit).
11U Tackle Football - Ages 10 & 11 - (11years old as of July 31st current year). Players are evaluated and placed on the development or competitive teams. There will be (4) home games and (4) away games with the competitive team having the ability to compete in the IYFL playoffs. Photo required, along with a copy of original birth certificate. 13U Tackle Football - Ages 12 & 13 - (13 years old as of July 31st current year). This team is competitive and works with players and families that also have a child playing football in middle school. This team offers great opportunities for players to play along side their friends with no weight limit restrictions for positions. There will be (4) home games and (4) away games with the competitive team having the ability to compete in the IYFL playoffs. Photo required, along with a copy of original birth certificate. The fee for Tackle Football is $345.00 ($295+$50 volunteer deposit).
